After 2 months of nursing my daughter and now 5 months of pumping, I have made my minimal list of my absolute go to’s for pumping. This is what I always carry with me! Here we go:
Pumping Bag
I use this tote bag that I got from Meijer almost 3 years ago now. It hold everything I could need and I love it! No need to spend money on a special pump bag, this holds everything.
Your Pump & ALL the parts
I used to have the Medela Freestyle but have recently switched to the Spectra 1Plus. It has a rechargeable feature that works best for me on the go!
I have many times forgotten parts of my pump. This is horrible. I have found that keeping all of my pump items together in my bag, even when I am at home has stopped me from forgetting anything.
Pumping Bra
This is a game changer! I took me months to finally buy one and I wish I would have sooner. I use the Medela hands free pumping bra because that way I can wear whatever clothes I like and just pop the bra on when I need to pump.
Mason Jar
I choose to do the #pitchermethod way of storing my milk each day. I essentially pump all day and add the milk from the day into one pitcher then either use or freeze. I like to use a mason jar because they are easy to clean, have a seal tight lid and I have a ton sitting around.
Water Cup/Bottle
I switch between a water bottle or Yeti tumbler. I use the Yeti when I am at home but when I travel I use a closed water bottle so it doesn’t spill. My goal is always to finish my bottle by the time I am done pumping to keep myself hydrated! (Yay for always trying to boost my milk supply!)
A Snack!
My go to are these Made Good granola bites. They are made for schools who are allergen free which is great because I am often in a preschool with those rules and you can buy a large pack of these pre-packages to go packets from Costco! A good snack while pumping and easy to grab and go.
What else do you carry with you while pumping? Let me know in the comments or DM me on my instagram @mrskelsisykes
